Week 13 College Football (The Week Before the Big Games)

Tua Tagovailoa dominated headlines for the wrong reasons last weekend. Alabama played an 11:00am game and was injured around 12:15pm central time. The rest of the day revolved around his health. Unfortunately, he is out for the season. Other than that, not a lot of headline grabbing events unfolded last week until halftime in Waco. Baylor was up 31-10 at halftime and lost 34-31 after Jalen Hurts led a comeback for the ages. LSU gave up 600+ yards to Ole Miss in a shootout win of 58-37. The Playoff committee and DISPN have the same exact top six rankings.

CFP Playoff Rankings

4 Georgia vs 1 LSU

3 Clemson vs 2 Ohio State

First Two Out

5 Alabama

6 Oregon

Week 13 Picks (all times central)

Minnesota vs Northwestern 11:00am ABC (Pick: Minnesota) Texas A&M vs Georgia 2:30 CBS (Pick: Georgia)

Michigan vs Indiana 2:30 ESPN (Pick: Michigan)

Texas vs Baylor 2:30 FS1 (Pick: Baylor)

UCLA vs USC 2:30 ABC (Pick: USC)

Pittsburgh vs Virginia Tech 2:30 ESPN2 (Pick: Pittsburgh)

Purdue vs Wisconsin 3:00 FOX (Pick: Wisconsin)

Memphis vs South Florida 3:00 ESPNU (Pick: Memphis)

Temple vs Cincinnati 6:00 ESPN2 (Pick: Cincinnati)

Oregon vs Arizona State 6:30 ABC (Pick: Oregon)

This week is not a great slate of games as usual. The heavy hitters are either off or playing FCS or lower level FBS schools this week. These may be the best games of the day, listed above in the picks. Minnesota lost last week and they have a chance to still play for the Big Ten Championship, but they need to win this week. Can Georgia and Baylor still keep playoff hopes alive. USC could play massive spoiler for the PAC-12. They beat Utah earlier and Oregon needs to play Utah in the Conference Championship, not USC.

Game of the Week

Penn State vs Ohio State 11:00am FOX

This is a big game in the playoff talk. If Penn State wins they have a chance to play for the Big Ten Championship and could wreck Ohio State and Minnesota's playoff hopes. If Ohio State wins, the playoff world keeps going as normal. I just do not see a way for Penn State to pull this upset. (Pick: Ohio State)
