NFL Divisional Playoff Preview (Quarterbacks Weekend)

We are down to eight teams after the previous weekend. We had four exciting games with exciting and shocking finishes. Two games went to overtime. The overtime games were in Houston and New Orleans. Houston overcame a 16-0 deficit to win 22-19 in OT. New Orleans lost 26-20 to Minnesota. The most shocking result came out of New England, where the Titans beat the Patriots 20-13. Derrick Henry had a game for the ages, rushing for 180+ yards. Now, this next weekend is historically regarded as the best weekend of the playoffs.

NFL Divisional Playoffs Schedule and Picks

NFC: 6 Minnesota Vikings vs 1 San Francisco 49ers (Saturday) 3:35pm NBC (Pick: San Francisco)

NFC: 5 Seattle Seahawks vs 2 Green Bay Packers (Sunday) 5:40 FOX (Pick: Seattle)

AFC: 6 Tennessee Titans vs 1 Baltimore Ravens (Saturday) 7:15 CBS (Pick: Baltimore)

AFC: 4 Houston Texans vs 2 Kansas City Chiefs (Sunday) 2:05 CBS (Pick: Kansas City)

What to Watch For

The games on Saturday could be sneaky good or blowouts. First, in San Francisco expect the 49ers to score around 30 points. The key for the Vikings will be can Kirk Cousins survive in the backfield against the defense of the 49ers. The 49ers key will be if Jimmy Garoppolo can show up in the big game when the nation is watching. He played in five big time games this season (GB, at NOLA, at BAL, at SEA, SEA) in those games he won three and lost two. The key for Tennessee to beating Baltimore will be to slow the game down and keep Lamar Jackson on the sideline. The Ravens key will be slowing down Derrick Henry.

Sunday's early game should be a shootout where the first to 35 could win. Two young and electric QBs. The key here may be who has the ball last will win. The late game Sunday is one that every team dreads. No one wants to play in Green Bay in January unless you are the Packers. Seattle is different because they play in a cold and rainy city. The keys will be defenses and QBs. Sunday can be summed up in one sentence....The Quarterback who has the ball last will win the game.

Its going to be a fun weekend. Next weekend we crown champions in the AFC and NFC. Have a magical day and we will SEE YA! real soon.
