2019 NFL Preview (Mahomes vs Brady Pt.2???)

Last season we saw the rise of Patrick Mahomes and Jared Goff. This year should be no different. Before we dive into the record projections and more lets talk about what to expect out of the 2019 NFL season. This is the 100th season of professional football in America. In honor of this the NFL will have one game each week that was a classic game from the last 100 years. These will include games that have been previous Super Bowls and games that are engrained in league history. Next, this will be a two part piece with part one being record projections and top ten games to look forward too. Part two will be playoff projections and the top ten games according to my projections. So lets dive into part one.

AFC East NFC East

New England Patriots 13-3 Dallas Cowboys 11-5

New York Jets 9-7 Philadelphia Eagles 11-5

Miami Dolphins 5-11 Washington 5-11

Buffalo Bills 4-12 New York Giants 4-12

AFC South NFC South

Houston Texans 9-7 Atlanta Falcons 12-4

Tennessee Titans 7-9 New Orleans Saints 10-6

Indianapolis Colts 6-10 Carolina Panthers 8-8

Jacksonville Jaguars 5-11 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7-9

AFC North NFC North

Baltimore Ravens 11-5 Chicago Bears 13-3

Cleveland Browns 11-5 Green Bay Packers 9-7

Pittsburgh Steelers 8-8 Detroit Lions 6-10

Cincinnati Bengals 3-13 Minnesota Vikings 6-10

AFC West NFC West

Kansas City Chiefs 12-4 Los Angeles Rams 11-5

Top 10 Games (Pre-season)

10: Green Bay at Chicago (Week 1)

The kickoff game for the NFL's 100th season between two of the oldest teams. One thing to note for this game is Aaron Rodgers and his new head coach Matt LeFleur's debut vs Khalil Mack and the Bears defense.

9: Los Angeles Rams vs Dallas (Week 15)

Playoff rematch of last seasons Divisional round matchup. This game could determine seeding for playoffs. This could also be a must win for Dallas to push for a first round bye in the playoffs. One thing to note will be the atmosphere of late season and big game how will it affect Jared Goff on the road.

8: Pittsburgh vs New York Jets (Week 16)

This may be the least important game on this list as far as playoffs are concerned. The first meeting of Le'veon Bell against the Steelers since he last played for them. Will Pittsburgh come out with a vengeance for him is one thing to watch.

7: Green Bay vs Kansas City (Week 8) The quarterbacks Rodgers vs Patrick Mahomes. In what may be the most hyped QB matchup of the season it should be a showdown. Playing this game in the middle of the season should be a great test for the Packers who have a new coach for the first time in 10+ years.

6: Cleveland vs New England (Week 8)

Quarterbacks will be the buzz of this game as well on the same week as the game previously mentioned. Baker vs Brady, can Baker cook something up or will Brady put out the young fire.

5: Chicago vs Philadelphia (Week 9) Two contenders doing battle in the city of Rocky Balboa. This game will have a heavyweight fight feel. These teams are hard-nosed and physical. One thing is how healthy will Carson Wentz be after this game.

4: Los Angeles Chargers vs Kansas City (Weeks 11 and 17)

Week 11 is in Mexico City as part of the NFL international series, but week 17 is in Kansas City. The week 17 game could be for all the marbles, division and first round bye, and maybe home field advantage in the playoffs. The week 17 matchup could be the season finale to close out the season in primetime.

3: Dallas vs New England (Week 12)

Super Bowl XIV preview??? These two teams are considered America's team(s) for different reasons. The two most hated teams in the NFL. One thing to watch will be Bill Belichick vs Das Prescott and the mind games Belichick will have up his sleeve.

2: Kansas City vs New England (Week 14)

The schedule makers were not kind to New England by giving them two games in three weeks against tough teams. Kansas City coming off of the end of the AFC Championship game loss last season in heartbreak fashion will be out for blood. What will Belichick have up his sleeve this time?

1: New Orleans vs Los Angeles Rams (Week 2)

The game that will have an imprint on league history forever. The game that made pass interference reviewable will have its rematch early in the season. The Saints will be out for blood after that finish last season. Please, for the love of the game can we have a pass interference reviewed in this game just for all of Twitter to explode. There is not much to be said as to why this is the game to look forward to the most before the season begins.
